Lipsticks and glosses oh my

Well Here We go Another blog post with some more of the goodies I got in my latest Haul.

I went a little crazy on the whole lip colour front, but lets be honest here a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do right? ! ?

I got a variety of brands and colours and some of the bargins where just to good to miss out on. I most definately have my favorites out of the lot and I wonder if many of you agree with me. However because I have in no way used all these products as yet I am not going to do a review just first impressions.

I got some NYX cosmetics Lip Butters and Lipsticks. I LLLOOOOVVVEEEE the Lip Butters and now I am feeling a little disappointed for not getting more of them. Ive used one of the lipsticks to date and so far I am happy with them. Very silky and smooth to apply with good pigmentation and they last a fairly long time although if your a constant coffee drinker like me you may need to re apply a little bit, however I find that with all lip colours anyway regardless of whether drug store or high end.

I also got a selection of NYC lip products. The Lip stains I have used and loved. I have not had a chance to use any of the other products as yet but watch this space in the next week or two.

And of course I had to buy my all time fav budget brand of Wet N Wild. I just love their lip and eye products. I have so far used the matt lip stick (black case) and the gloss. LLLOOOOVVVEEEDD them both. Found them to be great coverage, great moisture and great price lol.

I have to admit this is not all of it lol. There are Revlon gloss's, Maybelline lip balms ELF lip products to name but a few. You  know the way some girls have a shoe and handbag thing well I am slowly starting to think mine is lip and eye products . . . . . Whats yours?

On that front I am going to sign off for now it is just past midnight here in Norway and I have to get my videos uploaded yet before going for my beauty sleep.....

Wet n wild peacock eyes

Good evening my sparkle's,

I hope you are all doing well and have had a great Saturday.

As you know I am a lover of the brand wet n wild and find their eye shadows to be richly pigmented and lip colours so smooth and pigmented I always stock up on them.

While I was away I did  make overs on two of the girls I was away with, I mean I got to build up my portfolio, and I had some willing people and lots of fun was had. One of the girls I did is much darker skinned than I am and this peacock eye looked amazing on her. I will see if I can find the picture and add it to the end of the post to give you all an idea on how different it looks on different skin tones.

I have also made a tutorial which will be up on my youtube channel later tonight if you care to watch it.

Quick review of the Wet N Wild eyeshadow used.

I used Wet N Wilds beauty benefits ultimate expressions eye shadow palette, which is a quad eye shadow from Dollar Tree. It is really pigmented and the viberancy of colours is amazing. I did not have to cake it on to get this deep colour it was one pat of the brush and it was there to stay.

The palette did not crumble on use and it does not give to much fall out when applying.

As with all makeup with a good base and a good setting routine it will last for hours and not have to be touched up. Once again a 10 out of 10 for this product.

And this is how it looked on a darker skin tone.

Thank you  for dropping by and reading my late night rambles. Hope to see you all again soon.

Stay safe and dont forget to Sparkle.

Make up make up and more make up

Well I am home with lots of new drugstore items and one high end foundation which I have to say I am in love with but more on that later.
I have stocked up on facial scrubs from the clean n clear range as I really like the facial wash. It leaves my skin sooo soft.
The Olay facial scrubs are a new thing to try but so far I'm liking them. They come with the little battery powered scrubber for deep cleaning. I tend to use it every night before bed and the clean and clear is my morning wake up soap.

I had heard so many good things about the Revlon colour stay and photo ready range of foundations that I have to admit to it being my first purchase. I opted for the colour stay moose foundation as I tend to favour full coverage due to the facial hair issues. Well let me tell you this foundation is great, a little goes a long way and it provides a lovely lasting full cover. Is so creamy but a little heavy on.
My slash out purchase was on the Kat Von D foundation which people let me tell you I fell in love with. It is so smooth and light, blend able and build able and covers my problem areas soooo well. For me it is such a shame I can only mail order it as this would so be my daily foundation if it was easy to get hold off but alas it's not here in Norway.
I also got a cover girl foundation and a bob cream by wet n wild in their fergie collection.

I may if gone a little OTT on te eyeshadow front lol although is that really possible I'm not so sure lol. I'm enjoying the wet n wild shadows they have some good pigmentation and are easy to blend. I am a little disappointed with the Revlon cream shadows though :( Not easy to use at all in my opinion and don't give very vivid colour.

We have all heard of the ELF contour blush and bronzing set so I just had to get one. The Revlon and NYX blushes are my fav though and I alternate between the two day to day.

Various nail varnish from Sally Hanson to NYC. OPI to wet n wild. The Sally Hanson insta dry is great it goes non smoothly with the professional style brush it's not quite as long wearing as I like but a good top coat will soon fix that. My least favorite has to be the NYC nail colours. They are far to watery and take quite a few coats to get a good colour build up. Although saying that they are worth the price of being the cheapest of the cheap so can't complain really.

Well obviously after my huge haul I am going to have to organize my draws a little better lol. I've not even included all the lip products or give away items I thought I would save that for tomorrow.

I have applied to be a wet n wild embassador and intend to hold some wet n wild parties here in Norway come the spring time.

How did you all do over Christmas and the New Year, did you hit the sales? I spent far to much money on clothes and makeup I have to admit but got some nice bargains as well.

What would you like to see this month on the blog or the you tube channel don't forget to let me know.

Stay warm and safe and don't forget to sparkle.

Small haul Xmas gifts

Good afternoon sparkles.

I did start this post at Christmas but with my trip it was held up, I didn't think to schedule the publish date on the next two posts so please forgive me.

The following picture is the cosmetic goodies I received for Christmas off a dear friend. The facial scrub is amazing.

I have seen so many reviews for this Bioderma so decided to see if it is worth the hype.
Well I have to admit to loving it. It removes makeup really well and leaves my skin feeling so refreshed. In my opinion it is worth the money.

I then spent a little money on some bargain basement cosmetics from a store in Sweden. I have never heard of the brand before but will do a full review at a later date.

Well people I am going to cut this one short at I have a few more posts to catch up on.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and new year

First times

Well Hello My Sparkle People,

I hope everyone is doing well and have been having a good start to the week.

I have not been doing much makeup centered things over the past few days as I have been in Sweden looking after a friends little girl who is sooo adorable and as I mentioned I am busy trying to get ready for Christmas and my USA trip next week.

While I was there I decided to experiment a little with colour and hats, yes I know pretty different things but there ya go.

Firstly I tried a bright red lipstick. I have never worn red lipstick before and normally tend to stick to nude shades. Well I kinda like it and think I am going to experiment a little more with colour and step outside my comfort zone. What do you all think of the look?

I also tried on some hats although I am not quite so sold on them as the changing of lipstick colours lol Have any of you ever made mistakes with your style or makeup and how bad was it?

I came home from Sweden to a huge parcel full of xmas presents from a dear friend in the Uk, There was some makeup items in there ( yes naughty me didnt wait till Christmas and have already opened it lol ) I will do a review of the few items in the new year after I have had a chance to use them.

I have also caved and got myself a small travel sized bottle of Bioderma as I like many of I am sure have heard all the rave reviews on beauty blogs and youtube channels and I thought why the hell not lets give it ago,  will let you know what I think soon.

Ok on that front I am going to sign off wish you all a great week stay safe stay warm and dont forget to sparkle

Facial hair and tips to cover and hide.

Good morning my sparkly peeps,

Well I know I promised a post on facial hair in woman and the best ways to cover it up that I have tried. But first will start with what it is in most cases etc.

The normal amount of body hair for women varies. Most of the time, a woman only has fine hair, or peach fuzz, above the lips and on the chin, chest, abdomen, or back. If you have coarse, dark hairs in these areas, the condition is called hirsutism. Such hair growth is more typical of men.
Us women normally produce low levels of male hormones (androgens). Unfortunatly if your body makes too much of this hormone, you may have unwanted hair growth.
In most cases, the exact cause is never identified. It tends to run in families. In general, hirsutism is a harmless condition. But for many of us women we find it bothersome, or even embarrassing.
A common cause of hirsutism like in my case  is polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). For us with PCOS, like many other hormone conditions that cause unwanted hair growth may also have acne, problems with menstrual periods, trouble losing weight, and diabetes. If these symptoms start suddenly, you may have a tumor that releases male hormones.
Hirsutism is generally a long-term problem. There are a number of ways to remove or treat unwanted hair. Some treatment effects last longer than others.
  • Weight loss in overweight women can reduce hair growth.
  • Bleaching or lightening hair may make it less noticeable.
Temporary hair removal options include:
  • Shaving does not cause more hair to grow, but the hair may look thicker, plus darker more course and we can be left with sore painful red skin.
  • Plucking and waxing are fairly safe and are not expensive. However, they can be painful and there is a risk for scarring, swelling, and skin darkening.Downside to this method is red skin, and having to left the hair grow longer than if you shave.
  • Chemicals may be used, but most have a bad odor, and I mean a really bad odor that so gets up your nose and lingers lol.

Having said all that my prefered daily method is to shave. I have far to much to pluck, have funny skin so dont want to mess around with chemicals so for me shaving is the most convenient. My biggest tip for shaving is don't use shaving cream foams gels etc. Here follows my best hints and tips for a smooth shave and makeup tips.

The morning shower is perfect. Before touching a razor blade, wet your face with warm water and then gently exfoliate. You don't need any fancy product to do it, get some soap on your fingers (Dove beauty bar works just fine) and gently rub them in small circles all over the area to be shaved. This loosens up dead skin cells and loose hairs, making your job easier.
Now for your shaving medium. Don't spend money on shaving cream. It sucks. Use moisturizing lotion. If you have sensitive skin, get the kind for that. Anyway, spread that as you would shaving cream. Don't wash it off. Now get your razor.
I'd recommend investing in a decent razor with both a row of blades  but multi-blade disposable will also work. Wet it in the water. Go slow, with short strokes, and wash the blade of hair frequently Start by stroking downward, towards your shoulders. Do that in columns, taking care to match the contours of your face. You'll get a closer shave that way. Work to the outside of your lips.

The area under your lips and your chin is one of the more difficult spots on the face to do. Be patient, work slowly, and use downward strokes at first. You'll also want to remember your neck, it sucks going through your day and realizing you've still got bristles under your chin. Then you want to do the area between your nose and lips.
When you've done everything with downward strokes, switch to upward strokes. I don't feel the need to reapply moisturizer at this point, but you may if you wish. On the upstrokes you'll likely find a lot that the downward strokes missed. I also use sidestrokes for my jawline, because it's difficult to get a clean shaving line going on such difficult geometry.
Now to concealing the shadow that's left! This next bit is about makeup.
Now you're out of the shower and your face is dry. Hopefully you didn't cut yourself, which I always seem to do at some point lol. Give your whole face another thin application of moisturizer. Whenever you're ready to do your makeup, before you do your concealer, if you have  very thick dark hair you may need to take a neutral-to-light colored lipstick (something that just barely stands out against your skin) and draw it down in short strokes above your upper lip. This seems to be the biggest problem area, although mine is my chin. Then do your concealer and mix some with the lipstick. This will go a long way in concealing that persistent shadow. Combined with a foundation and some powder, it should be quite concealed. You also might try accentuating other parts of your face to draw attention elsewhere.
Cream full coverage foundations work the best. Some of my go to brands are Max Factor Facefinity, L'oreal True match and Maybelline Dream satin and Dream cream foundations. If you find these feel to heavy on your face another tip is to use them on the problem areas and a lighter foundation on the rest of your face and blend it really well. I tend to do this with the dream cream foundation.
Well thats enough from me for today I am off to pamper my face and do my makeup for the day. What are you guys gonna be upto?
Do you have any products, rituals you would recommend?

What ever you are doing stay safe have fun and Sparkle

Love Vikkie
