makeup brushes what for and how to pt 2

Good Morning,

I hope you are all sitting comfortably, got ya cuppa and are ready for part 2 of my brushes uses list lol. Your not, well hurry up go put kettle on and get yourself sorted and we shall begin. Its a cold day again here In Norway and after the slight let  up in the snow for most of yesterday it started again at about 10pm and its still falling. After I have written this post I will have to go out and clear the drive way, walk the dogs or rather be walked by the dogs and then I can come back and work on a morning routine video for you all to enjoy.
What are your plans for the day?

Before I forget to let you all know over on the facebook page I will be organizing monthly swaps if you want to be part of that then please go over, like the page and drop me a message.

Right onto the brush talk, well thats what your hear for right?!?

21 is a smudge brush... Is it rubber or sponge though? If it's rubbery that's the kind I like because it acts like an eraser on liner and mascara oops on the skin. Sponge is okay but doesn't do a good job at erasing the liner/mascara in my opinion. If it's rubber it's typically used to erase the oops and if it's sponge it's typically used to help smudge liner and shadow along the waterline. Can be used for other areas as well.

18 Is a concealer brush.

19 - 20, 22 - 31 are all different types of eyeshadow brushes.

22, 25 & 29 are angled brushes and that can help create sharp edges, these can be used on the brows (to fill in) or be used as a liner brush.

23, 27 & 30 are blending brushes, which  to help soften and blend shadows.

31 Is used to apply concealer to more delicate spots. Its a precision concealer brush. I use a smaller brush like this on my under eye area.

17 and 32 are some more liner brushes, they are so fine that they work perfectly for the crease of your lips or for drawing fine details if you are doing costume or special effects makeup.

Keep in mind just because a brush maybe a certain type of brush doesn't mean you have to use it for just that purpose. You also do not by any means need 32 or more brushes. To be perfectly honest with you I would say you can get by with only 7.

So what are the 7 makeup brushes you most need i hear you ask, well keep reading and I shall  tell you.

  1. Foundation Brush. A round fluffy and flat tipped brush. My must have brush is the real techniques brush. This type of brush is amazing for blending and buffering foundations on the skin. The shape makes it perfect for achieving a smooth application and it really works for covering pores for that flawless look.
  2. Powder Brush. A soft, round, large brush. this is a must have brush for dusting powder on your face, Why a brush versus a puff . . .  You will use less product with a brush and it will give you a more even natural looking finish.
  3. Blush/bronzer Brush. A soft medium sized dome shaped brush, with long and soft bristles works best. The softer and longer the bristles are the better. This is so that you do not disturb your foundation or irritate your skin.
  4. Eyeshadow Brush. A small stiff flat brush. This brush is used to apply all over eye shadow, as it gives a smooth finish. And more intense pigmentation that a fluffier brush would do.
  5. Eyeshadow Blending Brush. A flower shaped soft brush. This brush really gets into the crease of your eyes and helps to define your lid. It also is great at blending your colours together to get rid of any harsh lines between colours.
  6. Eye Liner/Brow Brush. A small angled brush. This can be used as a multi purpose brush, as it can be used on your lashline or to fill in your brows. I personally think this is the most user friendly of the eyeliner brushes as due to its slanted angle it is easy to maneuver.
  7.  Lip Brush. A small flat round tipped brush. This is the best shaped brush to create a defined lip.

Well that it for now folks. I hope you have found my brush posts useful. I will be back tomorrow with an all about Primers post. Hope you all have a great day and dont forget to sparkle.
